This is a beautiful white porcelain tea bowl by Kuroda Taizo that exudes a tranquil atmosphere.

At first glance, the design appears simple and minimal, but the wheel marks and polished traces on the surface reveal a rich texture and subtle nuances.

The shapes are crisp and tense, but one of the highlights of Kuroda Taizo's white porcelain is the warmth of the surface, which is achieved without the use of glaze.

The inside is smooth, but the outside has distinct, unique wheel marks.
The lines of the potter's wheel are not uniform, but vary in strength, and there seems to be a generosity and warmth that is common to white porcelain from the Joseon Dynasty.

There is a narrow, tapered base at the bottom.
The base is made thick using skillful potter's wheel techniques, making it extremely stable.
The line drawn all the way around is also a highlight.

Kuroda began making white porcelain in 1992.
When he was young, he was fascinated by the white porcelain of the Joseon Dynasty that Hamada Shoji showed him.
Since then, he had always wanted to make white porcelain, but his teacher, Tatsuzo Shimaoka, told him, "Making white porcelain is not something you do when you're young," so he continued to cherish his desire for white porcelain deep in his heart.
Then, in 1992, when Kuroda was 45 years old, he began to produce white porcelain in earnest.

Kuroda said the following about white porcelain:

"For me, white porcelain is not just about form or glaze, but perhaps it is like a truth. I have a desire to know the truth. ... It's hard to explain, but in this world, people cannot understand something unless it is embodied in a form, so I translate this into words in the genre of white porcelain. It feels like I am creating a word using the motif of pottery."
From Kuroda Taizo's official website

The pure white porcelain will make the matcha look amazing.
It is also 14cm in diameter and deep, so it can be used as a bowl to serve food or sweets.
Since it is made of white porcelain, it will suit any space and any dish.

The bottom is engraved with "Taizo" and a "T" and comes with a box.
