This white porcelain jar has a very rustic look.

Its charm may come from its interesting uneven shape and the distinctive white porcelain texture.

Unlike many late Joseon Dynasty wares on the market, this piece is thought to date to the mid Joseon Dynasty based on its mouth making and the color of the white porcelain.

Although it is porcelain, it has a soft skin like ceramics. The asymmetrical and unbalanced shape of the bowl is also a point of beauty.

It is an interesting feature of Joseon ceramics to be able to appreciate these points of beauty.

The body has a small Hittsuki (The pattern that the next ceramic falls down, touches and other debris sticks with when they are firing.)and a slight tear.

There are three short, old hairline cracks on the mouth rim.

This is not a perfect jar, but it is much more interesting than a shiny, shabby jar.
