Japan has long possessed a unique culture that appreciates not only the cuisine itself but also the exquisite harmony between the cuisine and the vessels in which it is served.
As part of a feast for the eyes, it remains a beauty before and even after you've finished eating. Special vessels born from this aesthetic sensibility are called “UTSUWA.”
This Web Exhibition showcases antique Utsuwa, including pieces of Ko-sometsuke, Mino ceramics, Imari porcelain, and lacquered trays that enhance the vessels. We hope you will take a look.
This is the second installment of the "UTSUWA" exhibition, which was well received two years ago.
