The Joseon Dynasty pedestal bowl was originally made as a ritual vessel for carrying offerings. As it was a ritual vessel, it has a high base and is characterized by its elegant shape.

There are two types of pedestals: square and round, but round ones tend to be more common and square ones are rare.

Looking at the base, the center is thicker while the edges are slightly thinner, designed to emphasize the tension of the curved upturned piece.

The base is simple and curved, while the base is chamfered into an octagon, giving it a sturdy stance. The design is minimal with openwork carvings.

It has a unique presence that is not found in either Japanese or Chinese tableware. In modern times, it would look great when used to serve pottery.

There is a slight magnetic penetration throughout the piece, which also adds to the scenery.

There is only one chip of about 5 mm on the edge, and the damage is minimal.
