This Totoya tea bowl features a scene reminiscent of autumn.

Totoya tea bowls were originally mass-produced in local kilns in Korea as everyday tableware, but they caught the eye of Japanese tea masters and began to be used in the tea ceremony.

This piece, with its shallow opening, is similar to a flat totoya. Korean tea bowls have a wide range of colors depending on the iron content, but this piece has a deep reddish loquat color. It has a beautiful moist luster, and the bluish mottled discoloration in some areas adds to the rich scenery.

The slightly smaller size that fits in the hand also seems to match well with the modest atmosphere of the tea bowl.

A simple, unpretentious appearance.

Of course, it's great for tea ceremonies, but it's also the kind of tea bowl you'd want to use for making tea for yourself every day.

Old paperwork is included.

The cover is made from Tamba cloth, whose dark brown color harmonizes with the color of the bowl.
