The technique of iron painting, in which patterns are expressed by painting with pigments containing iron to produce a brownish color.

During the Goryeo Dynasty, many works were produced using this technique.

Typical examples include a plum vase with arabesque patterns of tresure flower painted all over the vase without gaps. This work, however, uses the same arabesque patterns in a simplified manner for a small vase, making the most of the blank space.

The almost olive-green celadon and brownish paint emit a deep luster.

There is a 1cm repair on the inside of the mouth rim only.

This work is a small jar originally used as a container for storing oil to condition the hair.

It was a necessity for people at that time to keep their grooming in order.

In modern times, why not use it as a vase for a single flower or as a sweets container for tea ceremony?
