This cylindrical white porcelain jar is believed to have originally been used as a container for storing medicines and other items accompanied by a lid.

This style is typical of the late Joseon Dynasty and is very popular among collectors.

There are two types of such cylindrical jars: those with rounded shoulders and those with angular shoulders, and this one is of the latter type.

This piece is particularly edgy and sharp.

What is also pleasing is the softness of the skin, despite the fact that it is a late period white porcelain.

White porcelain of this period often has a glossy bluish-white color due to the stable manufacturing technology, which often makes it look a little unsatisfactory for Joseon pottery lovers who seek warmer textures.

In a sense, the subdued hue of white porcelain reminiscent of a slightly older era and the patina of the aged and scratched surfaces also add to the flavor of the piece, giving it a very characteristic Joseon Dynasty feel.

When it about antiques, people tend to focus on rarity, but it is possible to find your favorite shape and texture only because there are a relatively large number of standard pieces.

"I would like to get one of the Joseon white porcelain first."
"I admire white porcelain from the middle period of Joseon dynasety."

This jar is recommended for those who like this.
