Small tea bowl, Buncheong ware

A small tea bowl that is easy to assemble into a tea box.

The diameter is a little less than 12 cm, and it fits easily in both hands.

It has a well used patina already on it, and the stain that has entered through the penetration makes a nice scenery.

In contrast to the lovely small size, the powerful high stand attracts the eye when turned over.

The spiral shaped "tokiin" in the center is also very attractive.

The brownish base peeks out in the shape of a crescent moon just to the side of the base.

The accidental view left by the glaze also adds a wild taste to the entire tea bowl.

There are two old harline cracks and a little less than 1cm gold repair on the rim.

The condition is not noticeable to the overall appearance of the tea bowl, rather it is a positive factor.

This tea bowl is covered with a “Tanba-fu" cloth with a white and blue stripe pattern on a dark brown ground.

The dark blue-green cord is matched.

Tamba cloth is the king of mingei type old textiles, but it can be made to look much more modern depending on the color scheme and which parts of the cloth are used.

A combination of a warm tea bowl and a shifuku.

It is also elegant to enjoy nodate (tea ceremony in the field) with such a tea bowl in a tea box on a slightly chilly day.
