The technique of making "irisumi" (a corner) originated in Momoyama period (1573-1600) tea ceremony ceramics, in which a wheel-thrown base is covered to form a shape.

The corner of this work has a soft curve like a flower petal, giving it a lovely impression. The lapis lazuli glaze is applied all the way to the inside of the bottom, giving it a plump appearance with a sense of depth. The basis material white body accents the entire piece.

It is an easy-to-use everyday dish that gives you the pleasure of thinking about what dishes you would like to pair with it today.
